Position Summary: The CMM Inspector participates in the site inspection function by developing inspection paths for a computerized portable arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Will also be responsible for the development of programs using customer part specifications in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Determine part inspection requirements from customer's geometric blueprint features
  • Romer Programming and Operation
  • Create programs for portable arm coordinate measuring machines
  • Administer and/or edit previously created programs
  • Ensure the part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level
  • Qualify and operate portable arm CMM equipment as required
  • Verify the operator's setup is suitable, the machine is calibrated and is operational
  • Operate computer programming hardware and software systems
  • Analyze and troubleshoot portable arm setups and inspections paths
  • Develop inspection programs, using PC-DMIS
  • Develop and perform surface-plate inspection techniques
  • Work closely with the CNC Programmer and machine shop
  • Manage Romer Arm schedule and daily priority log
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned
  • Required participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this role


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • U.S. Person status required do to export control
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience required
  • Previous quality inspection experience preferred
  • Previous portable arm coordinate measuring machine experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpreting engineering drawings (blueprints)
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
  • Highly skilled in MS Office programs- Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat
  • Understanding of applied mathematics' algebra, geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to use measuring tools and gauges
  • Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate job diligence, attention to details, and solid problem-solving skills


  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and the management team.
  • Must be well organized, flexible, and able to work in a team-oriented, deadline-driven, fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English

The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
