GENERAL SUMMARY

The Model Risk Analyst (MRA) is primarily responsible for supporting best-practice risk management functions with a specific emphasis on model risk management activities consistent with the Bank's Model Governance Program. The position requires maintaining a data warehouse for all Cathay's models and user developed applications UDAs, ensuring business processes related to models and are followed; documenting and presenting observations to the Model Risk Manager, tracking remediation progress; and coordinating model validations projects, and preparing reporting dashboards. This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to pursue a career in risk management or looking for a quantitative role in banking.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Maintain a data warehouse with centralized inventory of all models and User Defined Applications (UDAs) with corresponding model documents
  • Ensure all model and UDAs metadata and lifecycle is current and complete
  • Support the execution of the model control framework including model identification and risk assessment, maintaining all templates
  • Collaborate with model owners to ensure submission of quarterly model attestations.
  • Log all findings identified in model validations and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their timely remediation
  • Coordinate model validation projects between model owners and external validators
  • Track model performance KRIs and prepare appropriate dashboard and risk reporting


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Experience:

    • Prefer 2 years' experience in Finance, Risk, Accounting
    • Experience maintaining large data sets and Risk Reporting
    • Experience in GRC and data warehouse (ModelEdge, Archer, Service Now, etc.), or SharePoint a plus


  • Skills/Ability: Strong data manipulation and management skills (Excel, SQL). General knowledge of banking products. Strong analytical and reasoning skills. Good verbal and written communication skills



OTHER DETAILS

$40.87 - $49.52 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
