Job Posting: Senior Environmental Project Manager

Location: Brighton, MI
Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Our Brighton office is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex upland and sediment investigation and remediation projects. This position offers the opportunity to oversee high-level projects related to contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water.

The Senior Project Manager will manage strategic pursuits and maintain the ongoing growth of our Brighton office. You will play a critical role as a technical leader and mentor, supporting junior and mid-level staff, and leading key projects for sediment and upland investigation and remediation.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage CERCLA upland remediation and sediment projects, including project planning, execution, and oversight.
  • Serve as the technical lead for investigation and remediation projects, providing senior technical reviews for upland and sediment investigation and remediation, beneficial reuse, and related applications.
  • Provide mentoring and supervision to junior and mid-level staff, fostering skill development and ensuring project success.
  • Guide the preparation and management of key project documents, including site characterization plans, QAPP/FSP documents, and other technical reports.
  • Oversee and ensure proper site characterization planning and execution, including managing sampling and laboratory testing of sediment, soil, and water.
  • Lead and support all phases of project development, potentially including feasibility studies, treatability studies, design, and construction.
  • Contribute to the investigation of emerging contaminants in multimedia samples.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage technical tasks for complex environmental projects.


Qualifications:



  • B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 20 years of experience or M.S. degree with at least 17 years of experience. Previous project management experience is required.
  • Specific experience must include upland and/or sediment site environmental investigation/remediation, remedial design, and implementation.




    • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and frameworks (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, state-specific regulations, etc.)
    • Proven experience leading complex projects, including managing and providing technical leadership for investigation/remediation projects.
    • Strong understanding of site characterization, sampling, and laboratory testing.
    • Recent experience in PFAS investigation is preferred.


  • Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to supervise and develop junior and mid-level staff.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
    • Proficiency in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
