Perform proficiently in different aspect of multiple plant duties. Provide relief in jobs and learn duties of production, packaging, sanitation, and other roles as assigned. Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include highly skilled / senior-level processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/ Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs * Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot * Assist with training efforts in functional area as needed * Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format * Engage in problem solving to assist in improving production, safety, quality, and yields * Ensure operational efficiencies by positioning work, setting up of jobs, adjusting and operating equipment for proper functions and manufacturing of product * Perform quality monitoring of statistical information and report on variations to supervisor and lab * Inspect and identify any issues and perform preventative maintenance when needed * Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately * Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues * Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements * The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required OUR VACATION RELIEF OPERATOR FOR THIS POSITION CAN MAKE UP TO: $25.22 per hour SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri 4AM-2:30PM BENEFITS: Union pension plan and 401(k) or 401(k) with company contribution* High school diploma or equivalent preferred * 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/production experience needed, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry * CDL REQUIRED * Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment Able to follow directions and carry out instructions * Able to effectively work in a team environment * Able to legibly write entries for record keeping * Able to work in a fast-paced environment * Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer |
