The IT Process Advisor will be part of the IT Process Management team in Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX and will support the IT organization in optimizing IT processes related to project portfolio management (PPM). This role requires continual evaluation and improvement of existing processes and creation of new processes enhancing the efficiency of the Portfolio Management practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and optimize IT processes related to project portfolio management
- Lead efforts in identifying areas for process improvement using data-driven analysis and feedback from stakeholders
- Enhance Portfolio Management practices through continual improvement initiatives
- Establish and manage work intake processes, ensuring requests are properly captured, evaluated, and prioritized
- Develop Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs) for IT teams and end-users to ensure consistent process understanding and adherence
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including PPM processes workflows, and training materials
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on updated processes and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams, project and portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of processes
- Serve as a liaison between the service management platform (ServiceNow) team and the customer, translating requirements into actionable requirements
- Provide support to teams in troubleshooting and improving process-related issues
- Develop and implement metrics to track process performance of the practices
- Conduct regular process audits and feedback sessions to ensure processes remain relevant and efficient
Qualifications: Required
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, or related field of study
- 5 years of experience in or related to IT process management, project portfolio management
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and portfolio management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
- Proven experience in process design, optimization, and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
Desired:
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
- Experience with Strategic Portfolio Management Module in ServiceNow
