Senior Accounting Analyst, Hydrogen Generation Status:Exempt (Salaried)Department: Finance/AccountingPosition SummaryThe Senior Accounting Analyst supports the Hydrogen Generation and Delivery organization by driving strategic decision making within the Plug Energy space, measuring financial data, and providing data-driven analytical support, making them an integral part of the financial operations team. The Senior Accounting Analyst closely supports the business operations teams with their accounting needs by coupling transactional data with their understanding of the teams' needs to effectively communicate complex concepts to internal customers in non-accounting roles . The Senior Accounting Analyst also develops custom reporting and presents fact-based guidance and recommendations for various business purposes.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Book journal entries related to the H2 generation plants and customer tank inventory
  • Reconcile invoices from third party vendors to the general ledger and internal logistics reporting
  • Support the reporting requirements associated with Joint Ventures
  • Execute internal controls and support external audit requests
  • Trace, review, and analyze cost to determine Capex or Opex
  • Support other hydrogen related accounting procedures
  • Support weekly business operations review by analyzing and presenting financial data and KPIs
  • Partner with operations, logistics, and delivery teams to provide financial insights and guidance, analytics, and business counsel based on delivery cost
  • Create, maintain, review, and present segment specific income statements to finance management
  • Book journal entries and reconcile accounts
  • Develop, track, and maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly cost reporting to communicate actual results vs budget and actual results vs prior year
  • Leverage Business Intelligence tools to reduce manual work and automate financial reporting, including but not limited to: Power BI, SQL, Power Automate
  • Measure and track corporate wide cost reduction initiatives, including by not limited to product reliability and operational efficiency
  • Identify cost improvement opportunities related to the above
  • Always Represent Plug Power in a professional manner
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Four (4) or more years of accounting or related work experience
  • Experience working in accounting in a corporate setting
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Four (4) or more years of experience conducting financial analysis in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Superior communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
  • Ability to role model high standards of professionalism
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
  • Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

Exceptionally qualified candidates may have the following:

  • Certified Public Account (CPA), Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), or Master's in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 1-2 years of experience with Power BI
  • 1+ years of experience with BlackLine Systems

Pay Rate:

$69,900.00 - $104,900.00
