Job Responsibilities
- Promote and champion Zero Harm and Zero Waste initiatives and culture across all plant operations and personnel.
- Ensures all employees abide by Life Saving Rules and SH&E policies while performing tasks resulting in a quality product to customer specifications.
- Responsible for the management of commercial sales and working with the sales team to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Maintain Koppers Tie inventories.
- Provide oversight of the Quality Assurance Program ensuring we maintain our AAR certification and fully implement and maintain the ISO9001 program.
- You will be expected to obtain and maintain a Texas pesticide applicator license and pass the test for General Applicator and Wood Preservation.
- You will be expected to step-in and complete subordinates work when they are on leave and support the equipment maintenance effort as needed. Anticipate being available for the weekend overtime rotation.
- Assist in the development, implementation, ongoing support of the facility on-the-job (OJT) training program.
- Awareness of Zero Harm Program Requirements (OSHA, Koppers' Policies, Regulatory & Statutory Requirements, Etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Wood Science, Industrial Engineering or related field required.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required; 5 years of supervisory experience in a wood treating facility preferred.
- Safety, Health and Environmental awareness.
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Prior experience in a union environment preferred.
- Must be a team player with the ability to set priorities, analyze problems, work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
