Job Description

Develops and executes efficient planning and effective scheduling of maintenance work related to plant equipment, manufacturing machines, and building & grounds while supporting and managing the maintenance work order system. This includes management of outside contractors.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Promote and assure safe work habits including compliance and improvements to company and departmental safety procedures and goals
  • Assure that all equipment, parts, and personnel are available to efficiently complete each work order assignment with minimum downtime.
  • Creates and communicates work orders based on maintenance requests, planned maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Review completed work orders for discrepancies compared to plan in regards to time, materials, notes/comments and completion of tasks. Formally closes work orders after review.
  • Prioritizes planned work based on equipment availability, resources, safety impact and availability of outside contractors if needed.
  • Coordinates and manages contractor services including but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, fire inspections etc.
  • Collects data on equipment breakdowns.
  • Implement, manage and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Implement and manage training program to further the knowledge base of the maintenance workforce.
  • Monitor progress on difficult or extended problems and projects
  • Coordinate outside contractors when required for special project work or to supplement maintenance workforce.
  • Support maintenance schedule including guidance of available resources, development of weekly resource schedules and ongoing improvements
  • Coordinates various projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager
  • Monitor the maintenance work schedule for vacations and overtime planning.

  • The ability to quantify results, identify new opportunities, and interface with all levels of management on a continual basis is required.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of SAP systems.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A high school education or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
