Description

This is a full time, benefited position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Hillcrest. This is an exempt and salaried position eligible for the Management Incentive Compensation Plan (MICP) at the Supervisor level.

What you'll do:



  • Supervise Adult Medicine staff.
  • Manages daily staffing for assigned clinic operations.
  • Ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
  • Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
  • Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, shares leadership responsibilities for the Medical Assistant staff, including managing daily staffing plans.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency.
  • Works in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care.
  • Management and development of clinical staff.
  • Contributes to operations management of assigned business unit(s).
  • Participates in budget planning and management.
  • Takes proactive initiative in quality management.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Certified MA plus two years applicable clinical experience.
  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.


Required Certification/Registration:



  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or Military Corpsman program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required in clinical setting


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • Leadership experience.
