The Orion Systems Engineer - Cross Program Integrator supports the Orion Program Office and will serve as the prime point of contact at other cross program forums. In addition, the Orion Systems Engineer - Cross Program Integrator will: Responsibilities: * Represent the Orion Program as Integration Lead of cross program activities with other Artemis programs, such as Gateway and HLS. * Provide comprehensive, technical systems knowledge and expertise to Orion program milestones and reviews, and represent Orion at other Artemis program milestone reviews. * Utilize comprehensive understanding of the NASA human spaceflight program life cycle to establish and lead Orion system integration activities, such as define architectural trade studies, define mission concept of operations for future Artemis missions, and author and review integrated technical and engineering documents. * Establish and lead working relationships with stakeholders within Orion and within integrated Artemis programs, including NASA leads, system managers, commercial teammates, and international partners. * Mentor team members with the implementation of systems engineering activities, such as requirements management, interface definition and Interface Control Document (ICD) development, working with design organizations and cross-functional teams, supporting development, integration, certification, and verification testing. * Perform other duties as required. Minimum Requirements: * BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus ten (10) years of appropriate work experience. -OR- * BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus fifteen (15) years of appropriate work experience. * Working experience with Human Space Exploration programs (Gateway, ISS, Orion, etc.). * Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines. * Comprehensive working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems. * Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills. * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). * Post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol as outlined in our Drug Free Workplace policy. * Work may involve sitting for extended periods. * May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb. * Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary. * Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. * Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.) * Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. * Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required. * Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. * Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. * Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. *This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed. Preferred Requirements: * Project management or other leadership experience. * INCOSE System Engineering Professional Certification. * Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent engineering. * Knowledge of systems, tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline, such as requirements management software (DOORS, DNG, JAMA, etc.), workflow management software (JIRA, Confluence, etc.), model based systems engineering softare (Cameo, MagicDraw, etc.), or other digital tools (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.) *Experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives. *Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently. * Experience with data trending and statistics. Education: *BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus a minimum of ten (10) years of appropriate and progressive experience; additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.
