Provide user support for Geoscience systems used in Oil & Gas exploration, including database, hardware and software issues.

Candidates should have a strong background in supporting a team of professionals with varying computer skill levels and comforts.

Essential functions include:

Promoting quality control of Geoscience data.

Coordinating and performing distribution and installation of new G&G software and updates.

Document and present all technical work with clear and concise written recommendations

Coordinating responsibilities with division IS Manager and other IT staff.

Providing one on one and group assistance, instruction, demonstrations, and training for systems and hardware.

Consultation with vendors as needed.

Assist in defining Geoscience IT priorities.

Providing users with tools and methodologies to increase efficiency when using various software products.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have relevant experience working in the oil & gas industry, 5+ years' experience preferred. High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of Geoscience applications, databases, and systems with a willingness to learn new software packages is required. Preferred software experience includes S&P Global Petra, Kingdom, SLB Petrel, Hampson-Russell, Paradigm, OpenSpirit, and Oracle. Successful candidates will also be self-motivated and driven to complete projects. This is a support position and strong customer service skills are required. Operational activities are ongoing 24 hours/day and candidates must have the ability to be on call nights and weekends.
