Finance Reporting and Analytics Manager

SUMMARY

Mortenson is seeking a Finance Reporting and Analytics Manager to lead the Reporting & Analytics team within Finance Process and Technology. This role involves providing leadership, oversight, and assistance in designing, delivering, and maintaining data, analytics, dashboards, reports, and reporting tools for internal and external customers. Responsibilities include establishing and growing the Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) governance, best practices, and internal controls, as well as planning and executing strategies to optimize and enhance Finance and Mortenson reporting tools, capabilities, and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversee reporting and analytics services, finance data products, and reporting and analytics products
  • Drive valuable business insights to senior leaders through optimized operational and performance reporting
  • Ensure data and reporting products adhere to the organization's security and compliance standards
  • Provide direction and guidance to direct reports, including ongoing supervision of daily, weekly, and monthly activities, as well as the completion of annual performance reviews and career development discussions
  • Develop and execute reporting and analytics strategies, deploy reporting and analytics software, design data and security models, and build reporting frameworks as required
  • Maintain and monitor internal controls and quality control over reporting products and services
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to streamline and enhance reporting and analytics processes, and lead efforts to implement improvements identified
  • Provide data, reporting, and analysis for internal and external customers, and participate in special projects
  • Organize a Reporting Center of Excellence and facilitate self-service reporting capabilities
  • Liaise with other areas of the company (e.g., Operations and Planning & Analysis) to ensure information and operations are conducive, meaningful, and effective for reporting and analysis for the respective areas
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data analytics and reporting technologies
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent field of study
  • Proven experience in a reporting and analytics role, preferably in a managerial capacity
  • Minimum of eight years related experience
  • Mix of public and private industry experience preferred, with an emphasis on Finance Planning & Analytics
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis software (e.g., SQL, Python)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and database management
  • Oracle Cloud/Financials/Projects experience preferred
  • Shown ability to lead a team in meeting expectations and related deadlines; ability to work with different personalities and work styles
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, along with attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; effective time-management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Ability to communicate financial information to all levels of the organization, including Senior Management
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on ERP applications and spreadsheet applications
  • Desire to be successful in a team-oriented environment
  • Active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Results and deadline-oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a reporting and analytics team, including experience with industry-standard reporting software

The base pay range for this role is $116,300-$174,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office l,ocations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
