Position Purpose |
To serve as a medical clinician and to provide primary medical care to Dartmouth College students, spouses, and on occasion, employees. |
Required Qualifications |
In-depth knowledge of primary care medicine. Strong clinical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Multicultural competence.
Proficiency with computer applications, including use of electronic medical software.
New Hampshire licensure. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with college-age population. College Health, Community Medicine or Adolescent Health experience.
M.D. or D.O., with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or another appropriate specialty. |

Clinical Responsibilities
Provides primary health care to Dartmouth College students, eligible student spouses and employees in outpatient clinic and inpatient infirmary, as appropriate.
Provides direct clinical care, such as obtaining medical and health histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting labs and x-rays, determining diagnoses and treatments, prescribing medications, and referring to specialists.
Together with other physicians on staff, supervise and assist physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical residents and nurses in the Primary Care and Preventative Medicine clinics.
Consult with members of the Counseling Center concerning medical care of students as necessary. |
