Position Summary

Columbia University Fertility Center (CUFC) is at the forefront of innovation and excellence in reproductive health. We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled, and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team and deliver exceptional fertility care.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted clinician for patients throughout their fertility journeys, providing expert guidance, advanced care, and emotional support. Collaborating closely with world-renowned reproductive endocrinologists and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, you will be integral in helping patients through their fertility journey.

As a dedicated NP in our practice, you will provide exemplary care and advance innovation in fertility treatments, ensuring our patients receive leading-edge therapies grounded in research and delivered with empathy. As our valued NP, you will be involved with in-person procedures such as transvaginal ultrasounds, endometrial biopsies, saline sonograms, intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), and patient education and counseling.

Responsibilities



  • Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing treatment cycle.
  • Partner with the physician team to assess, diagnose and order/interprets tests.
  • Our PAs/NPs work closely with all members of our clinical team and provide guidance and support.
  • Perform baseline ultrasounds and follow up monitoring ultrasounds for timed intercourse, IUI and IVF treatment cycles.
  • Perform early pregnancy ultrasounds with attending physician supervision, evaluate urgent patients with pain, bleeding in early pregnancy, pregnancy of unknown location/rule out ectopic, rule out ovarian hyperstimulation.
  • Perform a variety of procedures such as: saline sonograms, endometrial biopsies and IUI (intrauterine insemination) Review semen analysis and follow up with patients.
  • Consult for outside/self- referred sperm cryopreservation patients.
  • Post retrieval/procedure symptom complaint evaluation/assessment.
  • Assist in pre and post op procedure area, as needed.
  • Use electronic medical records and work off "task lists" to complete patient visits or requests.
  • Complete forms and requisitions in electronic medical record.
  • Document all required information in electronic medical record.
  • Provide patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns.
  • FDA screening (history and physical, questionnaire and lab work screening/review), compliance, and initial determination sign off
  • Review, approve, and sign off on fertility-related medication orders in accordance with clinic protocols, state regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform general administrative functions, and related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the applicable state.
  • National certification as an NP (e.g., WHNP, FNP, or ANP).
  • Current DEA license for prescribing medications, including controlled substances (as required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification for all Nurse Practitioners who provide direct patient care.
  • Requires an individual who takes pride in working with patients and provides highly personalized care.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience as an NP/PA, preferably in women's health, reproductive endocrinology, or fertility care.
  • Proficiency in performing patient consultations, ultrasounds, medication monitoring, and IVF cycle coordination.
