JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Utilize AutoCAD and/or Inventor software to create and edit material handling system designs
* Apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout and design.
* Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings.
* Research / review customer specifications to understand requirements and ensure compliance.
* Collaborate with project team members including design engineers, project engineers and project managers and customers to ensure project requirements are met.
* Work with Project Engineer to establish an engineering design plan and schedule for the project.
* Ensure design compliance with company and customer standards.
* Research / review available as-built drawings.
* Research / review available architectural drawings.
* Travel to customer facilities to conduct site surveys and document as-built conditions.
* Develop general arrangement drawings (high level equipment layouts).
* Produce mechanical installation detail drawings, including plan views, elevations, cross-sections and bills of materials.
* Specify components and materials required as per the design.
* Prepare specifications, designs, or sketches for machines, components, or materials as required.
* Check drawings and provide feedback to the design team.
* Make drawing corrections / revisions as needed to meet the project requirements.
* Report out on drawing status on a regular cadence, maintaining the project schedule.
* Prepare drawing packages and transmittals for customer reviews.
* Attend trainings to enhance professional and technical knowledge.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Drafting and Design or similar technical program.
* Minimum 3 years" experience in mechanical conveyor / installation design.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor or Revit CAD software
* Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
* Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively both in writing and verbally
* Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional / multi-disciplined team
* Ability to work within deadlines; focus and perform work accurately
* Must be adaptable to changing priorities
* Willingness to travel, typically 15%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical conveyor / installation design.
