Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position GDMS has an immediate opening for a Deployment Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The Deployment Engineer will work as part of the existing Deployment team in conjunction with functional development teams to determine strategies, create detailed plans, and support on-site execution of recurring Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) program deployments on the operational system. These deployments occur on a planned schedule but additional out of cycle deployments may also occur. These deployments require close coordination with GD program management as well as our customer and government representatives. This role includes developing and presenting Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Project schedules, and status reports as required. The candidate must be a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual able to work both independently and as part of a team. Due to our fast-paced environment, the candidate must also be comfortable with multi-tasking in a very dynamic environment. Prior experience with the MUOS system is preferred but not required. Up to 50% travel will be required depending on the scope and schedule of specific deployments. What sets you apart:
