We're actively seeking a talented Senior Application Backend Engineer to join our Web, Sales & Marketing Technology team primarily based out of Newport Beach, CA. As a Senior Application Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by building and delivering cutting-edge self-service capabilities for customers on our external facing websites in addition to enabling marketing technology solutions. You will fill an existing role on a dedicated team of 5 talented people in the Pacific Life Technology division. Your colleagues will include Senior System Analysts & Engineer fellow professionals that believe in open communication, collaboration, teamwork, continuous learning, innovation and at the same time having fun by virtue or recognitions and celebrations.
How you will make an impact:
Design, Develop & Deliver end to end solutions to meet business needs and build as per enterprise architecture guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. Own end-to-end feature development, from concept to deployment. Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and system stability concerns. Design, Develop & Maintain end to end CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
The experience you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ Years of software development experiences in backend and AWS cloud technologies. Strong proficiency in server-side languages (Java & NodeJS (preferred), Python) Extensive experience with AWS Cloud services and serverless computing Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful/GraphQL API design. Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) Proficiency with DevSecOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment. Experience with Work Management platforms Azure DevOps or similar platforms. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
What will make you stand out:
AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Developer) Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools Experience with an Integration Platform like MuleSoft is a plus. Knowledge of best practices in cybersecurity and data protection.
