The GES Vice President - PMO is responsible for leading the ongoing development and delivery of a portfolio of transformative programs in partnership with senior business and IT leaders. Programs include high-profile initiatives around eCommerce, labor management, and operational efficiency. The PMO leader will be a change agent with deep relevant leadership, project, and product experience who will be responsible to ensure consistent delivery of projects on time, on budget, and with quality. The PMO leader will report directly to the GES Chief Technology Officer. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior business and IT leaders to align and deliver an annual portfolio of IT enabled business programs, including transformative initiatives in eCommerce, labor management, and operational efficiency.
- Implement a comprehensive Project Portfolio Management strategy that ensures business alignment and engagement required for successful delivery.
- Oversee the Project Management Lifecycle Strategy from concept to delivery, ensuring strong project management processes that facilitate consistent execution.
- Oversee, coach, and mentor project managers, ensuring they have a scalable Project Management Delivery Framework to meet program and project goals.
- Build strategic partnerships with systems implementors and/or other third parties that can facilitate and enable the success of strategic initiatives.
- Implement and maintain a cadence of operating mechanisms and processes to ensure strong project management, including planning, scoping, resourcing, budgeting, risk and issue management, vendor management, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business information systems, or related field.
- 10 or more years of professional project management experience with a clear demonstration of progressive achievement and growth up to leading a project management organization or project office.
- Proven ability to lead teams executing a portfolio of projects ranging from small and midsize efforts to large, complex, full-lifecycle projects, on time and within budget and scope.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise solutions and managing enterprise solution delivery partners with complex engagement portfolios.
- Experience delivering an enterprise eCommerce platform or other eCommerce solutions is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of developing Project Management and Solution Delivery Lifecycle frameworks that are baselined against third-party standards, such as the following: PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, MVP.
- Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff and develop written reporting and presentational content with level-appropriate messaging up to and including the senior executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix environment, particularly in cross-functional teams across multiple lines of business, over whom there may be influence but not direct authority.
- Role will require 10-20% travel.
