Overview

The Turbine Training Support Coordinator is responsible for providing technical and logistical support for hands-on training labs and

activities. This includes setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting training equipment, and managing inventory. The Lab Technician will

work closely with, instructors, students, Facilities team, and other staff to ensure that training labs are fully operational, clean, and ready for

use.



Responsibilities

1. Setup and Maintenance of Training Labs:

    Prepare and configure training labs for hands-on activities, ensuring all equipment is available functioning and calibrated.
  • Assist in the setup of other training resources required for instructional activities.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of training equipment to ensure minimal downtime during training sessions.
  • Assist in setting up and testing various devices and systems for training simulations or exercises.
  • Housekeeping audits and tasks as needed.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Track and manage inventory of training equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure that all training materials, such as tools, devices, manuals, and other resources, are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Coordinate the ordering of new equipment or supplies as needed and help maintain stock levels to meet training needs.
  • Maintain and update inventory logs to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Conduct quarterly rigging inspection audits.

3. Technical Support during Training Sessions:

  • Provide on-site technical support during training sessions, assisting instructors and trainees with any issues related to training
  • equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical difficulties that arise during the course of training, ensuring minimal disruption to
  • activities.
  • Offer guidance to trainers and trainees on proper use and functionality of training equipment.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, user manuals, and standard work procedures.
  • Support with creation of accurate records documenting equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory levels, and outside
  • vendor performance.
  • Prepare regular reports on training lab setup status, inventory usage, and equipment condition.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with trainers, instructors, and other staff to understand training needs and requirements.
  • Ensure clear communication regarding lab setup times, equipment availability, and inventory concerns.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and trainers on equipment performance and any issues that need to be addressed.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all training equipment and lab setups comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment and identify any potential safety hazards or concerns.
  • Actively participate in EHS programs and support GE Vernova safety culture.

7. Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • Able to use Excel and Word. Some experience with Smart Sheets preferred.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric power tools.
  • Experience with basic troubleshooting of mechanical equipment/systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, or materials as needed.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes, certification preferred.
  • Ability to conduct rigging and lifting tasks.
