Accounting Clerk
Overview Responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to Accounting Department. Maintains accounting document files, including accounts receivable and accounts payable daily work. Keys daily customer billing information as well as vendor invoices to the accounting system. Prints accounts payable checks, customer invoices, billing summaries and statements for mailing. Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of previous accounts payable/accounts receivable experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Functions involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Functions are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances.
