Division and Unit Overview Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies and programs for the American Chemical Society (ACS). The HR team has the challenge of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction, thus having a direct impact on the value and quality of HR solutions. The customer base is diverse, including current, former and potential employees, management business partners, American Chemical Society management and Executive Team, fellow HR Team members and outside vendors. Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience (3 - 5 years); advanced degree or equivalent experience desired; experience supporting learning and development initiatives preferred; Strong interpersonal, project management and excellent communication skills required. Previous experiences in instructional design, facilitation, and competency development preferred. The position may require travel. Duties: This role is within a high energy team focused on facilitating experiential learning and development solutions to help leaders and employees perform at their best. This position reports to the Director, Organizational Effectiveness (OE) within Human Resources and assists in designing, developing and implementing programs that increase organizational effectiveness including, but not limited to: training design and facilitation; new employee orientation; leadership development; compliance and policy training; and training initiatives across the broader American Chemical Society (ACS). Deliver training sessions or short courses, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes and offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills. Design a technical training or instruction session and develop and maintain relevant high-quality training resources to ensure the achievement of specified learning outcomes. Designs and develop courseware and program and may provide technical LMS guidance. Support the identification of learning needs by analyzing performance and competence data to identify gaps in relation to required levels. Contribute to the creation of development centers; tailor preexisting exercises and feedback and development planning processes and tools; draft new content as directed; draft documentation. Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and online tutorials. Anticipates and adopts innovations in business-building digital and technology applications. For example, investigates technologies to learn some cutting-edge best practices. Uses digital/social media to benefit the team and add value to the work being done; understands how to avoid misuse of these tools.
