Manager, US Codes - Editorial Role Summary: The US Codes Editorial Manager is a member of the Global Primary Law Editorial management team. They are responsible for management of US Editorial Codes teams and for driving the successful fulfilment of the department goals. Codes Editorial produces statutory and regulatory content, as well as court rules, KeyRules, Rules Calendaring content, statute indexes, and FormBuilder content, for Westlaw, print, and other media. About the Role In this opportunity as Manager, Codes Editorial, you will:
- Manage Codes editorial teams responsible for acquiring, integrating, enhancing, and publishing legislative content on Westlaw and in print.
- Provide day-to-day leadership for meeting department, product, people, and business goals and objectives, including setting overall team direction, performance, and work assignments.
- Manage individual and team performance to ensure alignment and support of department and organization strategy and initiatives.
- Collaborate with other Codes Editorial managers to prioritize work across the editorial group and to align resources to support highest priority work.
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts, including Product Management, Content Design & Development, Editorial AI teams, Codes Operations, and vendors or sourcing partners; share best practices and drive messaging around quality and timeliness.
- Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet expectation.
- Proactively problem solve and handle escalated issues as needed.
- Exhibit and encourage innovative thinking with application to staffing, processes, systems, and relationships, both internal and external.
As a manager, you will be responsible for:
- The quality and timeliness of content within specific products including both print and online Codes content.
- Meeting assigned schedules, targets, and budgets within the Editorial team, including balancing and shifting project allocation/people's time within the team based on changes to priorities.
- Identifying development areas and growing talent through timely feedback and coaching to direct reports, as well as effectively addressing under-performance.
- Contributing to the creation of tools and enhancements that drive Codes production, including optimization processing and machine learning.
- Executing on business plans to meet or exceed US Codes-based product, content, revenue, cost, and growth goals.
- Establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers, may act as a representative of the organization.

- Four-year college degree.
- Experience with legal content and/or editing/publishing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, editorial standards, products, and system(s).
- Understanding of how customers use legal products and the impact of decisions on the customer's use of legal products.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical problem solving and organizational skills.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Ability to identify and evaluate process improvements opportunities and new technologies.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $99,400 - $184,600. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
