This program offers formalized on-the-job training, making it ideal for those looking to develop their technical skills in a practical setting. The successful candidate will work closely with senior technicians, supervisors and instructors gaining expertise in specific field (electrical systems, engine, or machinery maintenance) through structured training and mentorship.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow contamination control and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting under direct supervision.
  • Learn to use specialized tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Participate in formal training sessions and apply the knowledge gained to real-world tasks.
  • Assist in completing related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with supervision.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance and repair of machines/equipment.



WHAT YOU'LL NEED



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three years related experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments.
  • Willingness to accept instruction and guidance from a Training Instructor and Senior Service Technician.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Successfully complete program curriculum
  • Successfully complete Work steps assessment.
  • Ability to certify for operating a forklift and/or manlift.
  • May require additional certifications for field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
