The Asphalt Plant Foreman leads our team of operators and laborers to ensure the efficient operation of our asphalt plant, overseeing daily maintenance, repairs, and operations to increase plant uptime and minimize downtime.

Compensation

$23.00-$24.00 per hour

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and ensure a safe work environment, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures, using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Supervise and direct a team of laborers and operators to perform daily maintenance, repairs, and operations of the asphalt plant.
  • Develop and implement effective routine maintenance procedures to increase plant uptime and minimize downtime.
  • Perform tasks as outlined by management and meet expectations for each specific project.
  • Repair and daily maintenance of conveyors, belts, crushers, and plants as needed.
  • Maintain grounds (grass, weeds, fences, gate areas, and rails/rail ties).
  • Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery, and other equipment used at the site.
Skills
  • Previous field experience in asphalt manufacturing, aggregate production, concrete manufacturing, or construction is preferred.
  • Possess knowledge and abilities to perform general repairs on plant equipment using standard industrial tools and understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Welding skills and experience with ability to perform maintenance and repair of asphalt plant as needed.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction and provide guidance to team members.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible, reliable, and dependable.
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to: kneel, climb, bend, stoop, and crawl.
  • Push, carry, and lift 75 pounds or more.
  • Valid NYS driver's license.
