The Office of Professional and Continuing Education proudly hosts
Auburn Youth Programs (
AYP), offering a vibrant mix of academic, athletic, cheer, and dance summer camps that welcome over 4,000 high school students each summer.
As a member of the
AYP team, you'll play a key role in bringing these exciting summer camps to life! Essential Functions |
Auburn Youth Programs (
AYP) offers multiple ways for students to make an impact and enjoy a rewarding summer experience. The Head Staff role is perfect for Auburn students who want to build leadership skills, gain valuable camp experience, and work with youth while meeting people from all over the U.S.
As a Head Staff member, you will:
- Collaborate with the Client Program Developer to oversee camp operations and ensure a smooth, safe, and memorable experience for participants.
- Lead and mentor a team of staff members, fostering teamwork and enthusiasm.
- Help deliver an extraordinary Auburn Experience for campers, making a lasting impact on their lives.
- Manage logistics and behind-the-scenes operations to support the success of AYP camps and programs.
This position begins during the spring semester and extends through the summer, with the possibility of continuing into the fall semester. One meal a day is provided during summer shifts, and this opportunity offers a chance to grow professionally, make lifelong connections, and have fun while making a difference in the lives of youth.

Minimum Qualifications |
Minimum Qualifications:
- Have attended Auburn University for at least one year
- Enrolled and taking classes during the semester of employment; or
- Not enrolled in classes for the semester of employment, but enrolled in the previous semester and enrolled for the following semester.
- Be in good academic standing
- Be at least 19 years old on June 1, 2025, pass a background check, and possess a valid driver's license
Expectations:
- Must have the patience, professionalism, understanding, flexibility, and energy to work and communicate with staff, counselors, campers, campus partners, and clients
- Must be willing to sacrifice, adapt, and work hard as part of a team
- Must display a positive attitude at all times
- Must be able to keep team on task and assign duties as needed
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Serve as an ambassador for Auburn University and role model for all persons they encounter
- Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Staff must be capable of physical labor (i.e. lifting approximately 20 lbs. or more)

Previous leadership experience or experience working with high school students preferred. |

$11.00-$12.00/hour |
