Role Description:

The Crane Operator is responsible for operating an overhead bridge bucket crane.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Operates overhead bridge bucket crane in DSLF and TDPS to load material into trucks.
  • Assures that loads do not exceed the overall rated lifting capacity of the crane and that they are properly secured and balanced before lifting.
  • Checks the crane controls and movements for proper functioning before beginning work and reports any defects to the Foreman.
  • Performs required preventive maintenance on crane and equipment as directed.
  • Complies with applicable safety rules and regulations, including daily inspection checklist.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform work area cleanup as necessary, including in the truck lanes during and after loading.
  • Works weekend shifts as assigned.



Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Key Working Relationships: Interacts with coworkers in the department and with truck drivers hauling biosolids and/or sludge from the Blue Plains Plant.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Required Experience:
One (1) year of related overhead crane operation experience.
Thorough knowledge on the operation of an overhead crane.
Minimum Education Requirements:
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Required Skills:
Skill in operating the levers to control the movement of the crane.
Must have good eye and hand coordination.
Required Licenses & Certifications:

English
Physical Requirements:
Subject to indoor and/or outdoor environmental conditions that include exposure to extreme cold and/or hot temperatures.
Subject to noise, vibration, and to hazards from a variety of physical conditions.
