Duties & Responsibilities * Directs the work of custodians performing cleaning tasks.
* Assists in supervising all inter-collegiate athletic sports and campus events.
* Schedules work to meet normal requirements without interfering with building occupants or students.
* Inspects buildings, rooms, storage space, halls, fixtures, and custodial equipment to observe the results of the work performed.
* Drives a university vehicle daily across campus to inspect the work done in various buildings, deliver supplies to buildings, and transport custodians.
*Recommends budget, materials, and equipment for assigned areas.
*Prepares a variety of operational reports and memoranda. Completes Career Conversations with employees annually.
Submits documentation regarding employee job performance and behavior. May meet with employees to issue disciplinary action.
* Coaches custodians to improve their job knowledge; provides high-quality cleaning services and encourages career development.
* Trains custodians and temporary staff on equipment operation, chemical usage, and cleaning schedules.
* Performs other duties as necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
*Requests appropriate material, equipment, and supplies while operating within the established budget.
*Recommends budget, materials, and equipment for assigned area.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma, equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate degree with a minimum of four years of experience in custodial services.
  • Two years of custodial supervisory experience is also highly preferred.
