Description

The primary purpose of this position is to manage multiple projects and programs of various sizes across the organization. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the project from start to finish or for which they have control, has full ownership and responsibility over project quality, and provide input to project management processes and lifecycles. Identifies appropriate resource needs, develops the project schedule and may work directly with a Director, Project Management Office as well as other stakeholders across the organization.

- Project Management - 80%
- Identifies opportunities and needs to advance operations, in both the School of Medicine and Healthcare.
- Develop a comprehensive plan to address the need and collaborate with key stakeholders to communicate, plan, monitor and design all aspects of projects.
- Ensures that the projects align with the strategic planning initiatives with a primary focus on operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Manages the initial and changes to project scope, schedule, cost, and resources needed to keep the project on track outlining various milestones throughout the project for timely implementation.
- Utilize industry best practices and project management methods to demonstrate the effectiveness and key outcomes of each project
- Communicates and collaborates with the Director of Project Management to advise stakeholders of potential risks and strategies to minimize said risks.
- Ensures that all projects are compliant with the multiple governing bodies of SIU School of Medicine.
- Maintains a structure for reporting and tracking various projects and their associated lifecycles in order to effectively monitor progress and report as requested.
- Support culture and infrastructure that enables structured approaches to decision-making and prioritization of initiatives
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization at all levels to enhance the success of initiatives and reduce redundancies.
- Education and Training - 20%
- Develop standard operating procedures, workflows, guidelines, tools, and other educational materials for the successful implementation and ongoing operations of various projects
- Lead and present training for stakeholders of the project outcomes

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Project Management, Finance or a field related to the position 2. Minimum of three (3) years of professional business, finance, or managerial work experience preferably with a focus on structured project management, using project management principles and tools
