Job Description:

Perkins Coie is seeking a qualified, dynamic individual to take on the role of Proposal Coordinator responsible for coordinating, developing, and assisting with practice- and industry-specific proposals and other marketing and business development materials. This individual will play a key support role in proposal development activities, including fully supporting the team's proposal managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

  • Support proposal manager with gathering information in the development and formatting of proposals and responses to RFPs using proposal generation technology tool.
  • Implement proposal strategies and processes to ensure successful responses to RFPs and other bid opportunities as directed by proposal manager.
  • Actively collaborate with proposal manager to refine and develop proposals.
  • Ability to project manage and support most processes required to complete proposals, including working with marketing and other departments.
  • Draft and revise components of proposal documents, including executive summaries, practice and industry descriptions, win themes, and biographies.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks associated with proposals, including logging opportunities into database, are completed timely.
  • Collaborate with proposal team members, marketing advisors, and other key team members to develop clear, compelling, and winning proposals.
  • Adhere to the firm's proposal processes and work to refine and improve.
  • Assist in drafting and editing compelling proposal content and help maintain team-owned content in collaboration with content specialist.
  • Help to maintain centralized proposal and content management database system in collaboration with content specialist.
  • Participate in regular meetings.

This position may require minimal travel.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Be a collaborative team player as well as possess proven ability to work with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask within a fast-paced, challenging, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to develop subject-matter expertise in assigned practice areas.
  • Experience and foresight to anticipate potential issues and escalate them as needed.
  • Must be self-motivated, responsive and understand the importance of delivering exceptional client service.

SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Basic knowledge of Foundation or other proposal generation tool.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools in a business environment, including strong prompt writing skills.
  • Basic design skills and familiarity with digital asset management system.
  • Experience using web-based research tools such as Monitor Suite, Docket Navigator, and Lex Machina.
  • Adapting quickly and with sound judgment to a variety of situations and demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • General understanding of the business of law.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of marketing experience in professional services. Having law firm experience, an MBA or JD would be a plus, but are not required.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan starting at 20 days annually, personal medical and parental leave, up to 10 paid holidays, and family care benefits. This position may be filled in the following location(s). The compensation depends on qualifications and experience.

Colorado compensation range: $59,230 to $86,680 annually

Illinois compensation range: $62,510 to $91,480 annually

Washington state compensation range: $62,480 to $91,430 annually
