Position Summary:

Vallen's Flexible Procurement Solution (FPS) Operations Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for leading FPS implementation projects. FPS utilizes an inventory management system that combines advanced technology with industrial vending to drive productivity and reduce cost for businesses. This position is an internal and external customer facing position that collects customer requirements, identifies best vending product fit and assess the customer's site readiness. The FPS Specialist will provide post- go live support by responding to customer inquiries and service requests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect and review all customer information sheets to ensure customer requirements are documented and complete.
  • Lead kick-off meetings and communicate with project stakeholders to discuss customer needs requirements, customizations and project timelines.
  • Utilize established configuration process to recommend the best vending option and layout for customers.
  • Validate whether the form, fit and function of the recommended vending option will meet the needs of the customer.
  • Maintain shared data files detailing customer-vending specifications (e.g. item, manufacturer, model, part number, dimension and vending type).
  • Complete detailed checklists and follow detail procedures in preparation for installation and configuration.
  • Conduct site readiness assessments such as review space requirements, test sample badges, test internet connectivity and speed.
  • Coordinate customer service request to deploy, redeploy or disengage the solution in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Respond to basic customer inquiries and escalate technical issues to Dispensing Technical Support
  • Monitor and maintain project schedules to maximize productivity and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives (e.g. hardware and software enhancements, inventory control development).
  • Review customer-reporting needs to ensure reports are capturing the performance of the dispensing tool.
  • Travel to customer sites to support installations and/or on-going maintenance of the FPS solution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Relevant work experience should include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent PC Skills including, but not limited to; MS Word, MS Outlook, Visio
  • Demonstrated advanced level skills in Excel
  • Ability to work independently within defined processes and procedures
  • Product and/or industry knowledge is preferred (e.g. Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Vending)

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel required: Up to 25% of the time, international and domestic travel and will require overnight and/or out of town stays (via vehicle and commercial/commuter airplanes, etc.). Travel to customer sites that may consist of plant operations, warehouses and/or industrial storeroom environments. Occasional travel to other Vallen offices.
