We have a high-profile search for a dynamic Senior Manager, Social Media who can bring our brand stories to life, spark conversations, and engage our audience across social channels. We're looking for a creative visionary, a master of storytelling, and a social media maven. In this role, you'll lead Applebee's social media strategy and execution (90%) as well as support Dine Brands social media initiatives (10%). As part of our broader team, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, manage our social agency partners, and play a pivotal role in shaping our brand's voice. This role isn't just about posting updates-it's about creating quality content, crafting compelling narratives, and building a strong, engaged community. You will manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to ensure everything gets done on time and within budget. While being a self-starter and often working independently, you will also be a key influencer, collaborating with and inspiring cross-functional team members and leaders at all levels of the organization to champion great ideas and bring them to life. Responsibilities:
- Social Strategy Leadership:Partner with Applebee's marketing leadership team and the Dine Brands Communications Team to develop and manage a cutting-edge social strategy for both brands. Focus on a channel-based approach to reach audiences in ways they love to interact with the brands.
- Social Platforms Management:Lead and own the global social calendar and platform positioning, ensuring alignment with our social media strategy.
- Brand Tone & Voice:Craft and maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice across all social media platforms, reflecting our brand positioning.
- Campaign Management:Plan and execute dynamic social media campaigns, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve impactful campaign objectives.
- Community Management & Social Listening: Develop real-time brand engagement strategies to connect with followers, monitor trends, and foster a vibrant community. Actively respond to inquiries, cultivate meaningful conversations, and gather insights to inform strategy.
- Trendsetting & Analysis: Keep our social strategies fresh and innovative by identifying and creating emerging online trends, and seizing opportunities for innovative brand engagement, as well as staying on top of platform updates, and best practices.
- Content Development:Be the creative force behind our social presence by conceptualizing and creating compelling, shareable content for various social media channels. Partner with Social Content Producer and social agencies for rapid content creation, editing, deployment, and response.
- Content Creator Program Management:Manage content creator strategy with social agency support and develop relationships with key creators across leading platforms.
- Crisis Management:Collaborate closely with the Brand Communications team and agency partners to monitor social platforms and provide timely reports on any potential issues.
- Agency Management:Work with our social agency partners and marketing leadership team to maintain consistent messaging and maximize the impact of our social campaigns.
- Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing social media team. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, providing guidance and support to ensure team members achieve their full potential. Oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring alignment with the overall social media strategy, marketing plan, and brand objectives.
- Analytics & Reporting:Utilize analytics tools to monitor and analyze social media performance, providing insights to optimize strategies and consistently report to stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with marketing, PR, and other departments to ensure cohesive brand communication and amplify our social media efforts.
Skills & Requirements:
- Education:Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven Leadership Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within social media management, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with a track record of successfully managing and developing team members. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a positive and productive team culture.
- Platform Expertise:Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, SNAP, and LinkedIn, with a constant pulse on emerging platforms.
- Social Media and Graphic Design Tools:Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms, (e.g. Sprinklr, Meltwater, Google Analytics) and basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro).
- Agency Management:Experience managing and curating with creative agency partners, including media buying agencies.
- Communication Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- SEO Knowledge: Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) principles to enhance content visibility.
- Mindset:Collaborative and creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and content.
- Organizational Skills:Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Work Environment:Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly visible, and collaborative environment.
