Position Overview

We are seeking a Reliability Engineer who will play a crucial role in evaluating aircraft reliability and using data-driven insights to improve fleet performance. The successful candidate will work with JSX's Maintenance Information System, TRAXXALL, to monitor and assess fleet performance from both a systems and tail number perspective. As part of this dynamic role, you'll ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements while providing actionable recommendations that will support safe and reliable aircraft operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Data Analysis:


  • Analyze and evaluate maintenance data, including PIREPS, Maintenance Reports, Non-routine findings, and more.
  • Ensure accurate ATA coding and apply appropriate keyword tags for data analysis.
  • Provide statistical modeling, analysis, and reporting for CAMP requirements, including Mechanical Reliability Reports and Service Difficulty Reports.
  • Monitor and manage chronic aircraft alerts and discrepancies, applying root-cause analysis for corrective actions.

  • Policy and Procedure Development:


  • Develop and enforce aircraft-specific reliability policies and best practices for the fleet.
  • Lead and contribute to Reliability Control Board meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Review and recommend changes to maintenance programs to enhance performance and safety.
  • Reporting and Documentation:


  • Generate and submit FAA-required reports such as Continuous Analysis & Surveillance System (CASS) reports, Mechanical Reliability Reports, Service Difficulty Reports, and others.
  • Create and distribute project updates, status reports, and metrics to senior management and clients.
  • Project Management:


  • Lead various project management tasks, including action item lists, facilitating meetings, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments, supporting the coordination of tasks and meeting deadlines.

    Qualifications:

    Required:




  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of aircraft reliability programs and maintenance data analysis.
  • Proficiency with data management applications such as PowerBI, Azure, and Tableau.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods (up to 10 hours/day).
  • US citizenship or authorization to work in the United States (STS will not sponsor work visas).
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on quality and productivity.

    Preferred:




  • Degree in data analytics, aviation-related field, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for aircraft reliability and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with OEM and Type Certificate Holder (TCH) technical manuals.
  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant licenses.
  • Experience with airline industry groups like the Reliability Working Group or MRB Working Groups.
  • Background in Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

    Location and Availability:


  • Preferred: Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area.
