Operates vehicles such as large bulldozers and backhoes, cranes, graders, feller bunchers, prentice loaders, transit mix trucks or other vehicles of similar weight and complexity.


Essential Functions



  • Operates tandem dump truck, tank truck transporting non-flammable materials, front end loader, small backhoe, small bulldozer, flusher, vac-all dumpster, skidder, tandem log truck, small cement mixer or other earth moving, highway or utility maintenance or logging equipment of similar weight and complexity.
  • Drives pick-up or panel trucks, small dump trucks, delivery truck or other lighter weight vehicles when necessary.
  • Drives and operates vehicles equipped with snow plows and salt spreaders.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Performs laboring tasks in such areas as building, grounds or highway maintenance, utility operation or maintenance, trash collection, landfill operation or loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • May operate larger and more complex pieces of equipment when necessary.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications



  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Maryland Class A or B Commercial or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
  • Two years of operation of trucks or earth moving equipment experience.
  • Skilled in the safe operation of heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, small backhoe, small bulldozer, vac-alls or other similar trucks or equipment.
  • Skilled in the safe operation of automobiles, trucks, tractors and other related materials.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance check.
  • Ability to perform laborer tasks.
