What We Offer

In this role you will Initiate and conduct research and development activities to acquire and enlarge scientific knowledge and/or to develop new products and technologies in line with the overall R&D strategy.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To work with sales, product line management, plant chemists, technical applications management, legal, and technical product management, as well as being a key interface with our customer's R&D representatives.
  • To manage the needs of the overall organization while delighting the customer. Customers are global in scope, and delivery of positive technical and financial results for FOM is essential.
  • Requires significant autonomy in developing the technology that meets customer needs. This requires being able to understand the customer requirements, translating them to chemistry, thinking ahead of internal customers' needs, and actively challenging unreasonable request.
  • Given that this formulation work resides in the technical arena of optics, which are notoriously demanding, the position requires the ability to solve very tough problems.
  • To supervise and absorb externally generated knowledge within Covestro.
  • To lead in projects with a convincing impact and initiate long-term developments using specialized area expertise.
  • To participate in meetings with customers and use technical and insights from the market to shape future work.

$96,390.00- $179,010.00

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a high degree of technical know-how in the area of UV chemistry and formulation chemistry.
  • PhD in chemistry with 15+ years experience required. Must understand how liquid chemistry determined in the laboratory translates into fiber optic draw tower and cable processing performance.
  • Must have experience transferring new products and innovations into manufacturing.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skill are required
