Summary of the Job: Responsible for application software support, maintenance, release coordination/installation and troubleshooting. Researches problems, plans solutions, recommends software and systems, at least at the functional level, and coordinates development to meet business or other requirements. Liaison between internal employees, vendors & information technology professionals.

Essential Functions:

  • Support of Information Technology Applications that are customer and employee facing.
  • Understand and plan for organizational and human impacts of planned system implementation and support, and ensure that new technical requirements are properly integrated with existing processes and skill sets.
  • Establish and maintain application security, user access permissions and usage.
  • Work with user community to identify and fully utilize feature function within existing software.
  • Coordinate, test and implement new application software releases or functionality.
  • Process engineering and system flow documentation.
  • Interact with Line of Business teams to learn and document requirements that are then used to produce business requirements documents.
  • Write technical requirements.
  • Interact with vendors to understand software limitations.
  • Assist project teams during application implementation or system upgrades ex: provide use cases, flowcharts or user acceptance testing.
  • Work with IT teams, Governance, and Audit to complete user access reviews and application systems security vulnerability remediation functions.
  • Document requirements or contribute to related application knowledge bases.
  • Responsible for developing cost analysis, design considerations, staff impact and making recommendations on where efficiencies can be implemented.
  • Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established at Southside Bank.
  • Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank's Information Security Program.
  • Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four year College or University, or two to three years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization personnel.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving various application system components and processes.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server management tools.

Physical Activity/Dexterity:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Physical Environment Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (e.g. business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Available for occasional after-hours or weekend work.
