We are seeking a Content Marketing Director to join our team in Lenexa, KS!

A member of the corporate marketing leadership team, the content marketing director oversees development of all promotional content for Henderson's full complement of services and solutions. These responsibilities include conducting company-wide content audits, producing content development plans in coordination with creative services, and managing the conceptual development of content, drafting, editing, and publishing. The Content Marketing Director serves as the firm's thought leadership advocate, collaborating with sector marketing teams to plan and prioritize content production throughout the year to maximize promotional value through owned, earned, and paid channels. They develop Henderson's roster of subject matter experts and partner with them to consistently produce insightful and engaging content that highlights key projects, technologies, and talent for the firm.

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:



  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional communications experience.
  • Proven expertise as a writer and editor, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences and situations.
  • Skilled in managing comprehensive marketing plans and strategies, including budgets, vendor management, video production, social media management, digital marketing, and analytics/reporting.
  • Proficiency in digital publishing platforms such as WordPress, Mailchimp, and Sprout Social.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Effective presentation skills, including experience driving organizational change initiatives.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or business administration preferred. Years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with copywriting and managing editorial calendars.
  • Experience within related industries such as engineering, construction, architecture, or other professional services.
  • Marketing agency experience.
  • Familiarity with sectors such as venue, sports, healthcare, retail, corporate, and grocery is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite Software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.



Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role:

External and Internal Communications plus Graphics:



  • Conducts an annual company-wide external communications audit and updates strategy as necessary. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of current communications channels and platforms.
  • Collaborates with sector and corporate marketing teams on marketing plans and production schedules.
  • Drives content strategy and manages the production of all content related to the company's services and solutions.
  • Coordinates with Corporate Marketing Director to manage outside agency partners including PR firms, website partners, and video production teams.
  • Collaborates with human resources and content strategists to produce internal communications plan and calendar on an annual basis.
  • Provides oversight and direction to content strategists on content development and publishing plan for internal communications pieces and channels.
