Title: Distribution Center/Warehouse Associate

Reports To: Distribution Center Manager/Warehouse Manager

Work Schedule: 7-3:30pm, M-Fri; OT required during peak season.

The Distribution Center Equipment Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment, primarily stand-up forklifts, to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods throughout the distribution center. The operator must maintain high safety standards while working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and other equipment to move, stack, and organize products within the distribution center.
  • Retrieve and put away items according to inventory system instructions, keeping accurate records of product locations.
  • Efficiently load and unload trucks. Ensure the accurate and timely handling of materials in designated storage areas, racks, or bins, including picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, scanning, and staging products for shipping or distribution.
  • Inspect goods for damage and ensure they meet quality standards before and after transport.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, including pre-operation inspections, safe driving, and reporting of any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions.
  • Work closely with warehouse and distribution teams to maintain efficient workflows and meet operational deadlines.
  • Other duties as requested, including supporting warehouse operations and general housekeeping of warehouse.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in staging, storing, and shipping materials and products.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain an orderly distribution center/warehouse environment.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to distribution center/warehouse operations and material handling.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting to management.
  • Comfortable using dock plates, carts and ladders up to 18 feet tall.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, bend, twist, stoop, stand and walk for at least 3 hours at a stretch, over an 8 or 10-hour shift, with 15-minute breaks.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions.
