EisnerAmper has experienced significant growth and is seeking a Staff II Accountant for our Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Outsourced Accounting Team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations and accounting processes for our clients in the CPG sector. This position involves preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Staff Accountant II will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and assist with key business decisions.

What Work You Will be Responsible For:
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of financial data, and performing account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, specifically banks and credit cards; ensure all expenses and revenues are accurately recorded.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis in trend reports and recommend variance comments.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable and Employee Expense Report Support: Process accounts payable in Bill.com and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately. New vendor set up including forms W-9 and W-8BEN. Work with client to ensure employee expense reports have proper documentation.

  • Revenue and Cost Accounting: Complete and book entries for revenue generated through Shopify, PayPal, Amazon, etc. including reconciliations.

  • Payroll Entries: Run reports necessary for information to generate payroll journal entries, enter into QBO and reconcile accounts.

  • Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for client queries related to financial reporting, ensuring that requests are handled promptly and professionally.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, streamline reporting, and reduce errors.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Bangalore team, to provide training and support.

  • Review Staff I: Review junior team member deliverables for accuracy.

  • Annual 1099 Filings: Assist with collection and of information to complete required tax filing.

Basic qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business field

  • 2+ years of relevant accounting, or auditing experience or within an outsourced accounting team

  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management within the CPG sector

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QBO, and Bill.com

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP)

  • Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of payroll systems such as Rippling

  • Knowledge of NetSuite

  • CPA or pursuing CPA certification

About our CPG Outsourced Accounting Services Group:

As this is a fairly new industry area for EisnerAmper so, as we scale for growth, your role will entail some Business Development activities (e.g. networking and BD calls), and, very importantly, coaching and training our internal team of FP&A analysts and accountants not only on best practices and industry standards for the CPG industry but also to support their personal growth and development. We are also constantly looking to make our work more automated and efficient, so this role requires a keen interest in exploring and implementing accounting & FP&A software, especially those using by AI, to support our team and client deliverables.

You will consult with clients on areas relating to the overall management of their businesses. Consulting will include but not be limited to planning, implementation, management and controlling all financial-related activities of the client's business.

For Minnesota and Illinois, the expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $75,000. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
