Role profile:

The FTSE Russell Product Management team is responsible for delivering indexes, data products and services that meet targeted client segment needs globally, both launching new FTSE Russell index and financial data products and managing the existing offerings.

The Analyst, Equity Index Product Management will work closely with senior members of the team to support a wide range of projects. The Analyst will grow their knowledge of the financial markets and the investment management industry, FTSE Russell product portfolios including indexes, as well as the product development, life cycle and go-to-market processes. The Analyst will work closely with the Americas Equity Index Product Management team to support equity index products primarily focused on the US region including flagship indexes such as the Russell US Index Series and FTSE Global Equity Index Series.

The Analyst, Equity Index Product Management will also work across the matrixed organization with Research, Marketing, Index Delivery, and client facing teams including Sales and Client Service in order to gain support on key initiatives across the organization.

ROLE SUMMARY:

  • Support internal and external stakeholders achieve revenue generation and retention goals, through quantitative analysis of index data and the transformation into digestible formats, such as customer-facing presentations and product collateral.
  • Conduct industry and market research to identify sales focus areas to promote features and benefits of existing products, as well as generate new index product ideas.
  • Support Product Managers in key client engagement initiatives to understand client needs and/or product opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve product offering under manager supervision. Assist Product Managers and collaborate with internal stakeholders to launch new products, support Go-To-Market activities such as product collateral preparation and collaborate with Global Distribution team to ensure coverage by third party distribution platforms.
  • Assist Product Managers in product life cycle management. Implement minor enhancements to existing products / services and index or product decommissions under supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Provide analytical support including industry trend analysis, competition analysis, product analysis (index, data, methodology, delivery), etc. for the most widely used and highest revenue driving FTSE Russell equity index franchises (equities make up approximately 80% of FTSE Russell's assets benchmarked).
  • Leverage tools like LSEG Workspace, internal databases, and public sources. Summarize findings and provide conclusions and actionable insights based on analysis of FTSE Russell and LSEG, competitor and industry data and trends.
  • Own regular updates to client-facing product collateral on the Source, with extreme attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness given external nature of product collateral, starting with flagship Russell US and FTSE GEIS franchises (approximately $10 trillion and $2 trillion in assets benchmarked, respectively), and support client-facing teams (sales, customer success, client service, Index Investments Group) with ad hoc requests for data and presentations to help win/close sales opportunities and ongoing client support.
  • Assist Product Managers in product life cycle management. This includes design and implementation of new products from inception to delivery. Implement minor enhancements to existing products / services and index or product decommissions under supervision.
  • Collaborate with the Global Distribution team to ensure coverage and distribution on third party vendor platforms like LSEG Workspace, etc.
  • Work closely with Research, Marketing, Index Delivery, and client facing teams to execute and deliver against the product roadmap.
  • Support existing Products and Services through continuous enhancements, based on client needs and industry and competitive landscape.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to details and critical thinking to analyze and resolve quantitative related issues. Minimum expectation to conduct basic calculations like calculating index returns based on index values, constituent and industry index weights based on market cap data, transform the data into visually appealing client-facing charts and collateral in FTSE Russell brand templates, understand and learn index methodologies and various calculation methods used by the index industry, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (understand and interpret quantitative data, such as by comparing index methodologies and identifying differences contributing to weight differences from competitor indexes; explain/communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders with varying levels of sophistication).
  • Submit product materials for compliance review; learn the FTSE Russell language to reduce compliance revisions.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of global financial markets and the investment management industry, incorporating indexes, is essential.
  • Ability to establish credibility and build strong, confident, collaborative relationships with business and technology stakeholders including external parties, at all levels.
  • Demonstrates a can-do attitude, exhibits self-confidence, leadership, and adaptability to business change.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize effectively, handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, identify/ flag/resolve potential issues early on.
  • Ability to influence and work through others to get things done in a matrixed, multi-site organization; willingness to help colleagues; openness to take on new responsibilities.
  • Exhibit professionalism - self-motivated and can-do attitude.
  • It is expected that with limited supervision the individual will deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above, working to strict deadlines and to the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Microsoft Office skills, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $74,900 - $124,900. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
