Job Summary This position is focused on supporting manufacturing and technical operations across all SEMA plants, with an emphasis on driving continual process improvement and optimization. The role involves developing long-term strategic plans for plant operations, optimizing existing manufacturing processes, and integrating new technologies and equipment to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Essential Functions Process Design & Optimization: Develop and maintain high-yielding, cost-effective processes that align with product and customer needs. Regularly review and revise processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Cost Reduction & Troubleshooting: Identify and solve high-cost issues related to equipment and processes. Troubleshoot and collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, etc.) to implement cost-saving solutions. Process Development & Research: Participate in designing new processes by researching and evaluating emerging technologies, performing process characterization, and optimizing processes using tools like designed experiments and problem-solving techniques. Cross-Plant Collaboration: Work with multiple plants to standardize equipment and processes, ensure consistency, and support scale-ups or product transfers. Assist in choosing new product lines and processes for plant production, and develop a Process Engineering playbook. Continuous Improvement: Develop long-term process improvement strategies and integrate them into the CAPEX planning process. Actively participate in cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for reducing operational costs and increasing efficiency. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support to plants for troubleshooting technical issues related to processes, equipment, and production. Travel & Additional Responsibilities: Travel may be required to support plant activities, and the role includes other assigned duties or special projects. All other duties as assigned. Scope The position covers all SEMA Manufacturing Plants, with responsibilities extending across various plant locations. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in manufacturing compounding processes, equipment optimization, and cost reduction strategies. Strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work across multiple plants and teams are crucial for success in this role. Education and Experience * Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience. * 7 years of experience in Manufacturing operations, safety procedures, and process improvement. Additional Qualifications * Consistent high performer with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Able to work in a team environment. Holds themselves and team members accountable for a high level of performance. * Strong knowledge of safety requirements in manufacturing. * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data sources using a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools. Ability to put structure and discipline around defined processes. * Experience in leading / conducting root cause investigations/analysis. * Detail oriented and able to manage to milestones and deadlines. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate within a global matrix organization.
