Operations Supervisor - (Industrial Controls - NC)

Overview:

We're growing and looking for a Operations Supervisor to join our Industrial Controls team in Raleigh, NC. The Operations Supervisor for Industrial Controls is accountable for directing and supervising all operational activities, including team management, project execution, customer service, and business development initiatives within the North Carolina region.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Operations Supervisor include but are not limited to the following:




  • Day-to-day management of a dynamic group consisting of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers and field electricians.



  • Assist in making sales calls and delivering sales presentations, as needed, to support project managers and the engineering team.



  • Assist with estimating industrial controls solutions per plan/specification requirements and owner-direct opportunities.



  • Assist and support with developing departmental design, estimating processes and efficiency tools such as to create best practices for the field leaders, to include standardized google tools for that align with organizational needs.



  • Assist in new employee hiring processes.



  • Customer relations to ensure customer service and satisfaction are consistently high.



  • Conduct monthly job status and CRM reviews with Project Managers.



  • Develop, coach, mentor, cross train, and review direct reports to maximize team member involvement. Ensure the administration of performance reviews which include safety, communications, quality, efficiency, and accountability of team members.



  • Develop a Field Leader Controls training program by utilizing IC group engineering and IBEW JATC programs.



  • Maintain positive working relations and open communications with employees and external customers.



  • Establish relationships with end users, key contractors, and engineers.



  • Assist in the development of future sales goals.



  • Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.



  • Provide technical and managerial advice and assistance to project team members.




Position Requirements:




  • High school diploma required.



  • 10 years of electrical industrial controls experience and/or trade related experience and knowledge.



  • Project management, supervisory or leadership experience.



  • Experience in job cost management and/or financial management- including budgetary constraints.



  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.



  • Willingness to travel occasionally.




Qualifications:




  • Understand electrical design and engineering estimates pertaining to the food processing and manufacturing industry.



  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers



  • Ability to read and understand electrical control and power schematics.



  • Knowledgeable in industrial automation, controls integration, UL 508A panel shop solutions and familiarity with OEM and manufacturing controls-related business opportunities.



  • Knowledge of job scheduling and customer timeline management.



  • Technical sales experience.



  • Ability to present to both internal and external groups.



  • Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.



  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Google Suite or other Microsoft Office products.



  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills.



  • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts, and convey solutions in a problem-solving manner to customers and employees



  • Strong team-oriented demeanor and effective communicator



  • Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and react to these appropriately.
