Job Description |
ECU Department of University Writing Program is currently seeking an Office Assistant to serve as the first contact in the University Writing Center (
UWC). The Office Assistant will be responsible for greeting clients as they enter, assisting with
UWC online registrations, coordinating with writers and consultants, and scheduling appointments. Writing Center Office Assistants will also be trained on Portfolium in order to help students and consultants in need of troubleshooting or uploading assistance. This position will also assist with clerical needs such as answering telephone calls, performing opening/closing procedures, filing, making copies, updating computers, sorting mail, and other special projects. Lastly, Writing Center Office Assistants will help maintain the cleanliness of the space; sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, organizing, cleaning windows, etc. |
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) |
The applicant should be confident in the use of standard computer programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The applicant should also be professional, friendly, prompt, an independent worker, and able to interact well with clients. |
