Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The normal working hours for this role are anticipated to be Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. The Group Lead directs assigned workforce to meet goals of the department, including the direct labor function of the department. Responsible for scheduling and overseeing the daily tasks of Instrument Refurbishment Center (IRC) employees. Provides coaching, feedback, guidance, and training to employees, to ensure an engaged safe, compliant, and skilled workforce.

  • Assign tasks to team members in order to meet customer demand completion dates as driven by customer orders.
  • Assure team members are trained according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for performance management for all direct reports (goal setting, feedback, etc., including issuing corrective action as needed). Uses active communication / listening to contribute to employee engagement.
  • Instruct team members to ensure that all device history records and quality records are complete, accurate, and compliant.
  • Assist in the development of new procedures.
  • Ensure team members are compliant with ISO, FDA, MDSAP, or other standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to all company policies and procedures and safety practices.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and Lean strategies within assigned work area.
  • Ensure that 5S audits are maintained.
  • Responsible for making sure routine meetings are conducted and team members are involved.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years in manufacturing environment with exposure to leading and participating in teams. Degree in Business or Management is a plus but not required.
    • Associate's Degree with 5+ years in manufacturing environment with exposure to leading and participating in teams also accepted
    • High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years in manufacturing environment with exposure to leading and participating in teams also accepted
  • Supervisory experience with emphasis on team leadership and people skills is required.
  • Medical device and manufacturing of electro-mechanical devices is preferred
  • Some knowledge of OSHA, GMP and ISO is required.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement / 5S / LEAN manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in training others.
  • Requires proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
