*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days or more per week at manager discretion.

SUMMER INTERN PROGRAM SUMMARY

Interns can expect to gain valuable hands-on experience within their department while building partnerships with teams and fellow interns along the way!

  • Location: Portland, OR

  • Duration: ~10 weeks

  • Start Date Options: May 19th- July 25th or June 23rd - August 29th

  • Application Deadline: January 26th, 2025

  • Pay: $22.50/hr.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This internship project will be focused on a robust evaluation of the Apparel Trims source base. You will work directly with our factory partners and global liaison office teams to gather critical information needed to map global capability across our trims source base. You will work closely with Materials Research (MR) and Raw Material Sourcing to optimize material data, assess partner strengths and consolidation opportunities and will participate in building a long-range Trims strategy to support all Brands and regions. You will assist RM Sourcing in building a strategy focused on placing the right product at the right mills for localization, effective capacity utilization, maximized profitability, sustainability and ultimately, delivery of the Brand promise.

YOU ARE

  • Able to maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and effective operation of the organization.

  • Proficient in Excel and have experience in data analytics

  • Self-motivated and a self-starter

  • Passionate about materials and have a good understanding of textile manufacturing processes

  • Detail oriented

  • Eager to improve process and have a continuous improvement mindset

  • High level communication and presentation skills.

  • Analytical and possess strong organizational skills.

  • Able to meet strict timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

YOU HAVE

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.7 from an accredited college or university.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Current student with one of the following academic standings: Rising Senior, Senior, Graduate/ MBA student

  • Degree relevant to the internship you are applying for

  • Must be able to participate in 10-week program for either date option provided above

  • Must be able to work onsite at our headquarter location for the duration of the internship- interns will partner directly with their managers regarding expectations to work collaboratively in office specified days of the week
