Position Summary

The Program Manager provides leadership, management, and oversight for all phases of assigned programs to ensure achievement of all program goals, including technical, schedule, and cost performance. The Program Manager leads the integrated project team (IPT) and acts as the principal customer liaison for all program activities, maintaining effective communication with customers and the senior management team.

Job Duties

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and drives solutions.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program execution activities.
  • Provides oversight of cost, schedule and technical performance of programs while meeting customer needs.
  • Develops resource estimates and plans IPT workload. Establishes direction for IPT to balance program and company priorities.
  • Collaborates with all stakeholders, including military leadership and customers, FN worldwide product teams, business development, contracts, legal and compliance, manufacturing, and R&D to ensure success of programs.
  • Identifies, assesses, monitors and mitigates risk throughout the program life cycle (cost, schedule, manpower, and scope).
  • Coordinates with Contracts on contract negotiations, issues pertaining to contract requirements, changes, and interpretations and with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with the customer.
  • Assures contract requirements are executed in accordance with appropriate regulations and company policies and procedures (e.g. Federal Acquisition Regulations).
  • Defines and manages technical requirements in alignment with customer needs.
  • Leads preparation of company's responses to military solicitations and requests for information.
  • Presents comprehensive product business plans to executive team for review and approval. Keeps executive team abreast of current and anticipated military programs, trends and intercompany developments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other related discipline required, with MBA or equivalent degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

Five years of program or project management experience is required. DoD acquisition experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional program management skills: demonstrated verbal, written and presentation capabilities; sound reasoning and decision-making ability; strong analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Experience developing program management plans.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of business concepts and accounting principles associated with program cost and budgetary planning/control. Demonstrated experience with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills a plus.
  • Subject matter expert in standard Program Management processes.
  • Ability to effectively interface with engineering, manufacturing, contracts, procurement, quality, and other key stakeholders. Inclusive management style: able to lead and motivate team members and be comfortable with raising issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of product life cycle including business development, design, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate technical and non-technical documents relating to all aspects of assigned programs or new business capture targets.
  • Requirements management.
  • Ability to plan, organize, communicate and direct the day-to-day activities of multiple development, production or life cycle support programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines; self-starter; and multi-task oriented.

Tools

Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, SAP, general ERP familiarity, Earned Value Management preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

PMP certification highly preferred.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required(up to 10% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel).
