GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Supervisor and the operational direction of the Health and Business IT Training & Support Division of Information Technology, the Sr. Training Specialist is responsible to conduct successful training activities for the Henry Ford Health System. This includes but is not limited to Microsoft Office Suit and SharePoint. Works with senior leadership, physicians, clinical and administrative staff to integrate these applications into the workflow of the various clinics and business departments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Training: After successfully completing an inter-departmental training assessment review, conducts in-seat classroom training sessions as well as webinars for the above-mentioned applications. Must be proficient in instructing Levels I & II of the core business portfolio applications. Most classes are conducted at One Ford Place; however, travel to any of the HFHS locations to conduct training may be required. Participates in site or department staff meetings as needed for short training sessions.
  • Curriculum: Reviews and tests lesson plans, FAQs, creates webinar content and tip sheets in final form for the above-mentioned applications as needed. Frequently creates special lesson plans to accommodate senior leadership needs and schedules.
  • Support: Acts as a support resource for ongoing clinical and business systems issues and questions for users as well as information technology personnel. Provides on-call support during traditional hours and may participate in on-call activities during non-traditional hours.
  • Takes part in and may lead formal presentations to internal and external audiences as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, professional organizations and workshops as appropriate and/or necessary.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or Associate's Degree/equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 1 year experience training Microsoft Office in a corporate setting or hospital; must be highly computer literate.
