Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer to join our Infinia team at DDN. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the technical excellence and reliability of our advanced AI and high-performance storage solutions. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a technical authority, driving the resolution of complex issues, developing innovative solutions, and collaborating across teams to enhance customer satisfaction and maintain our leadership in the data storage market.

Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for complex issues involving Infinia, a high-performance, distributed data platform, driving their resolution through deep technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Customer Escalation Resolution: Own and resolve escalated technical issues for key customers, including debugging, delivering patches, and implementing code fixes to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Cross-Team Alignment: Partner closely with engineering, product management, and customer support to address customer needs, improve product features, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our solutions.
  • Innovation and Development: Design and develop tools, labs, proofs of concept (POCs), and technical demos to enhance support capabilities and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Knowledge Management: Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and the creation of whitepapers to support both internal teams and customers.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to streamline support processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize troubleshooting workflows.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Customer Training: Lead efforts to deliver customer-focused training sessions, ensuring users are equipped with best practices and a thorough understanding of the Infinia platform.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical roles related to high-performance computing, storage systems, or distributed platforms.
  • Proven track record in debugging, patching, and maintaining enterprise-class software systems.
  • Expertise in enterprise-class storage technologies, file systems, and data management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to tackle complex, large-scale systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to lead through influence, guide teams, and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell, and experience using these tools to automate support processes and troubleshoot issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with AI/ML technologies and data-intensive platforms.
  • Experience leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles and agile methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing customer success strategies and enhancing customer loyalty.

Interview Process: After submitting your application, one of our recruiters will review your resume. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the interview, you will enter the main process, which can consist of up to four interviews in total:

  • Coding assessment: Often in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service (depending on role).
  • Real-time problem-solving: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process in 2-3 weeks at most.
