Position Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for preparing the budgets, analyzing and tracking financial performance, and reporting biweekly and monthly workload information by work group.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  1. Organizes and analyzes the department's financial data by pay period and month and prepares reports and graphs for managers and staff. Maintains department data and files on the Pharmacy server for manager access.
  2. Analyzes and tracks department financial performance.
  3. Creates informational queries from pertinent databases for assistance in drug therapy outcomes.
  4. Gathers workload data from applicable sub-departments and calculates department Units of Service on a biweekly and monthly basis. Prepares graphs of workload and tracks workload by area on a daily basis during peak workload. Supports outcome study analysis by providing analysis and reports of data collections.
  5. Works with the pharmacy staff and buyer to maintain user and drug databases.
  6. Reviews historical data and prepares Pharmacy budgets by sub-department.
  7. Completes interdepartmental charging in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. Engages in a positive and constructive manner with co-workers, and projects a professional image of the pharmacy department in dress and behavior. Attends department education and training in-services. Participates in specific performance improvement projects as applicable.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:



  • 3+ years experience using financial software programs with a demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving ability.
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology, weights, measures and pharmacy math preferred. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to analyze data required.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.


Education/Licensure/Certification:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
