The Senior Clinical Scientist will assist in defining research strategies, goals, and objectives and implementing them, using internal and external resources. They will work closely with the medical and biostatistical team to design clinical studies and prepare abstracts and manuscripts related to new or ongoing studies. They will work closely with the medical communications lead to design curriculums that explain the evolving scientific landscape of transplantation and molecular diagnostics to the medical affairs and commercial team. They will be involved in presenting internally and externally at national/international conferences and advisory boards.

  • Develop and review protocols for projects, both sponsored and investigator-initiated
  • Analyze clinical trial data, including gathering, analyzing, reviewing, interpreting, and providing preliminary assessments.
  • Analyze information to assess issues relating to protocol conduct and/or individual subject safety.
  • Contribute to authoring of clinical study reports, clinical protocols and other clinical and regulatory documents.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders (CRO's, study sites, vendors, committees, etc.) in support of clinical trial objectives; responds to or triages questions for appropriate escalations.
  • Write and/or review collaborative abstracts, posters, and content for scientific meetings, conferences and publications.
  • Present at investigator meetings and scientific conferences
  • Engage and collaborate with US physicians/clinicians on design and implementation of feasibility & new indication clinical studies
  • Communicate/educate as company expert for company clinical science
  • Collaborate and educate clinical project/program managers and clinical operations staff
  • Conduct literature reviews as needed.
  • May require up to 20% of travel

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • PhD in Health Sciences or MD/PharmD
  • Minimum 3 first-author publications
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the biotechnology industry or academia as a clinical scientist or medical science liaison.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with multiple functions in a team environment
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment in a compressed time frame; capable of prioritizing tasks, working independently and delivering on deadlines with high-performance standards and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to interpret, discuss, and report trial/program level data effectively and identify trends.
  • Curious with the courage to challenge and seek new ways to improve work
  • Proficient with software tools (Microsoft Office), Electronic Data Capture, and other custom web-based software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • If PhD, focus in transplant/immunology/cardiology/nephrology related fields
  • If MD/PharmD, previous academic appointment as clinician scientist or investigator
