Employing the world's brightest. Supporting the world's bravest. Job Summary The Industrial Engineer intern will work closely with the Operational Excellence and Industrial Engineering team. The intern will assist the Operational Excellence and Industrial Engineering team with various assignments, while providing the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while enhancing knowledge within the Industrial Engineering field. Job Responsibilities Gather, compile, review, validate, and analyze data and information from multiple sources Use software for functional area, to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments Ability to effectively manage time in completing assigned tasks Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures This position typically spend 70% of their time supporting production, performing observations of the operations (Time studies) and 30% analyzing the data Be able to validate facility layout usingAutoCAD Basic knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing methodologies for waste reduction, 5S, Standard Work, TAKT, Pull System, single piece flow, Value Stream Mapping, cell design and manufacturing flow Support the creation of current state process flow based on observations, and participate in brainstorming sessions to improveprocess Conduct 6S audits Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the Industrial Engineering tools Other duties as assigned Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Job Responsibilities Part II Qualifications Currently enrolled in a 4 years degree program or 2 years Masters program in IndustrialEngineering Enrolled at time of application as a Junior or Senior with at least aminimum 3.0 GPA Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word) Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick study Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
